The Legend of Zelda is, quite possibly, my favorite IP.
I know this isn’t really relevant to the other content on this blog, but I thought I’d try to meet a quick post today even though I have to work.
I have played every Zelda game that has been released since I discovered the series with Ocarina of Time, with the exception of Triforce Heroes and Cadence of Hyrule. I have liked them all, though obviously I have my favorites — Wind Waker, to the surprise of most whom I tell, is probably my favorite overall.
I’m currently playing through the remake of Link’s Awakening, on the Nintendo Switch. It makes me feel very nostalgic. I beat that game time and again on my Gameboy Color. It was my second Zelda game. The recreation is incredibly faithful, and I have to say, I love it.
Nostalgia is powerful. Even the new Zelda games invoke some semblance of it, since they all refer back to their roots in one way or another. Maybe I love the games because of that nostalgia, but I think I love them because they’re good games. They make me happy.
That’s all I really had to say. It wasn’t much, I know. I’ll be back on Monday with another real post.
